The Woes of Student Loans

This article should really hit close to home with us students.

Basically, Rep. Joe Courtney is saying that student loan rates are going to increase again.  On July 1, 2012, interest rates on subsidized Stafford student loans -- one of the few programs that is affordable for students and families -- will double, from 3.4 to 6.8 percent.

While the article has political agendas all around it, I still found it to be an interesting read, especially is the notes are true.  I know plenty of people that just recently graduated who are paying back student loans, and their monthly payments can be pretty serious.  Not to mention the fact that they will be paying these loans off for years and years.  If the interest rates increase this much, I fear for my bank account after I graduate.
